The session will begin in the classroom with instruction and practice using line styles, proportion and placement to draw objects. Participants will then move outdoors to have the opportunity to practice drawing objects of interest from nature—plants, animals, or other objects. When observing something in nature, the process of sketching focuses attention on detail, improves observational skills, and assists in recognizing distinguishing features. Meg Skow will be our instructor. Meg has taught art for 33 years to students from elementary through high school. She is currently teaching at Rollings Middle School of the Arts in Summerville, SC and is the Southeastern Region Vice President of the National Art Education Association (NAEA).
