General Statement of Job – Under the direction of the Recreation Environmental Education Coordinator, the Environmental Education Aide will assist full time staff in creating and implementing environmental education programs for a wide variety of park patrons throughout the County Park system and in outreach locations.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities – The Environmental Education Aide will spend a considerable amount of time on foot, leading and assisting with programs where environmental education is the focus. Programs include standards-based school programs, pre-school programs, public programs, CCPRC camp programs, and external camp programs. All programs take place in both an indoor and outdoor setting and the ideal applicant will be comfortable teaching in a variety of environments and weather conditions on both weekdays and weekends. The individual in this position will be expected to converse effectively and efficiently with a wide variety of people. The aide will also assist with organizing and maintaining program supplies.
