Exploring Beach Invertebrates
North End of Folly Beach
Thursday, October 21, 1:30-3:30pm
SCDNR’s Exploration Series Programs are offering an in-person training in October. Join biologists from the Environmental Research Section on the north end of Folly Beach to learn about the small marine organisms beneath your feet! We’ll be collecting samples at various locations within the intertidal zone, then sieving through them to see what’s living there. Researchers will use these organisms for genetic sequencing and to learn more about their importance as prey items for shorebirds.
