This Thursday! Learn about the book: Nature’s Best Hope

Join fellow Coastal Master Naturalist Linda Geronilla, Ph.D, for an hour long introduction to Douglas W. Tallamy’s book Nature’s Best Hope: A New Approach to Conservation that Starts in Your Yard. This will be virtual lecture via Zoom on Thursday, FEBRUARY 18, 2021, at 7:00 PM.

Learn the important interactions of the food chains and webs in your yard. Understand how different components of ecosystems work to maintain sustainability. Develop a total food web with a variety of fauna /wildlife and flora/plants to support each other. Learn how 5% of the plants will feed over 70% of the web.

Following this introductory lecture, Linda will lead a book-club style study group on this book for those interested.  The initial plan is that participants will read 3-4 chapters each month, watch some videos, and meet to discuss the reading.  The three followup sessions are tentatively scheduled at 7:00 PM on 3/18/2021, 4/15/2021, and 5/20/2021.  However, Linda, along with those choosing to participate, may change those dates, so be sure to show up this Thursday to find out more and make your wishes known.

To participate, go to this Sign Up Genius page and submit your name and email.  We will then email you with a Zoom link.
