As we begin a new year, with all the new possibilities that it can hold, how about starting off with a new volunteer activity? We have many groups who are looking for help from volunteers. You can find a long list of them (it is alphabetical, so scroll to the bottom to give those groups some love, too!) on our Volunteer Organizations webpage: https://coastalmasternaturalists.org/volunteer-opportunities/. Take a look there and see if something piques your interest. Also, if you enjoy being on the beach, shorebird stewardship opportunities are out there. Bette Popillo, your fellow Master Naturalist, coordinates stewards on Kiawah Island, and is looking for people interested. You can reach her at: firstname.lastname@example.org. Mark Andrews, another Master Naturalist graduate, coordinates the Seabrook Island shorebird stewards. You can reach him at: email@example.com. For other locations, Allyssa Zebrowski is the Audubon Stewardship coordinator. Contact her by email at firstname.lastname@example.org, or by phone or text at 804-731-7873. Also stay tuned for info on shorebird steward training session coming up.
Let us know if you have other opportunities or if you have any questions!
