Promoting awareness and citizen stewardship

Coastal Master Naturalists Association

About Us

We are an enthusiastic group of lifelong learners who love acquiring and sharing knowledge about all of the environments of the Lowcountry.

The Coastal Master Naturalist Association promotes awareness and citizen stewardship for South Carolina’s natural resources through science-based education and community service. Our members have either completed Master Naturalist Training through the Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission or transferred from other chapters.

Get Involved

Whether you are looking for volunteer opportunities, advanced training events, or just a chance to spend some time with fellow nature lovers, the CMNA has you covered.

Training Events

Advanced training is required to keep your Master Naturalist status current, but more importantly it provides new skills to help you serve and educate!

Volunteer Organizations

Master Naturalists give back to our state through a variety of volunteer service opportunities including citizen science, river sweeps, education/interpretation programs, and more.

Empowering individuals to cultivate ecological awareness and action.
