Sewee Visitor & Environmental Education Center Volunteer Opportunities!

The Sewee Visitor & Environmental Education Center is looking for environmental education and visitor center service volunteers!!

As you know, this is the gateway to Francis Marion National Forest and Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge. The Center is located at 5821 Highway 17 North Awendaw, SC 29429.

Here are some details about the volunteer opportunities, but please see contact below for more detailed information.

* Willingness to become knowledgeable about the Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge and Francis Marion National Forest ecosystems and to become familiar with the refuge and forest management programs.

* Desire to work with youth of all ages in both indoor and outdoor settings.

* Good interpersonal and communications skills

* Willingness and ability to undergo training and follow lesson plans to assist with and teach curriculum-based programs, both on and off-site.

Examples of some duties and responsibilities……

* Assist Educator with program preparation and clean-up.

* Prepare teacher packets, program handouts and evaluation forms as needed.

* Working the front desk greeting and assisting visitors

* Environmental Education programs can be developed and led by volunteer( if volunteer is interested ) for our Saturday environmental educational youth programs

Time commitment is determined by availability.
